Monteverde - More adventures

Of course we couldn't leave Monteverde without the full experience of eating in the Treehouse http://www.treehouse.cr/ and seeing the classic blue morpho butterfly and its other friends as well as the frogs.

This fig tree is more than 50 years old.

The iconic blue morpho butterfly that you see everywhere in Costa Rica.

The butterflies just fly all over in the conservatory.  As you can see, they land whereever they feel like... on your shoe.

On your shoulder...

These butterflies are masters of camouflage, blending into their surroundings.  They look like flowers.

Can you see the orange butterfly?

The butterfly garden was in the same place as the Frog Pond.  We saw the butterflies in the day and went back in the evening to see the frogs since they are nocturnal and come alive at night.  We have no photos of the frogs as it was dark and the flash was forbidden as it blinds the frogs temporarily.
